Our Special Furry Pals
(FPR) primarily focuses our efforts on special needs companion animals. Shelters will contact FPR to take in dogs when they cannot afford to pay for the vetting costs associated with a dog’s needs or the time required for adoption at the local shelter has passed. The animals that enter our program have not received any vetting. They do not come to us spayed or neutered either. In many cases, the cost of vetting services is greater than the adoption contribution. FPR takes in many dogs that require extensive vetting. The adoption contribution helps defray the costs of spaying/neutering, testing, and vaccination but rarely, if ever, will cover all expenses. Although each of these animals have an outcome, there are still bills to be paid... Please consider making a donation towards their care.
Hit by a car and left on the side of the road. Luckily someone picked her up and from there, we took over. Her back leg was saved with pin surgery, however, the nerve damage was too severe in the front leg that it had to be amputated. Blanket now lives with her Mom, who also happens to be a vet! What a life!
